Rackets & Strings has been helping players get the best from their equipment for more than 45 years. Professional racquet restringing is a big part of what we do.
We offer restringing for tennis, squash and badminton racquets, with an experienced team who understand the difference the right string and tension can make to how your racquet feels and performs.

At Rackets & Strings, we take restringing seriously. Our experienced team uses some of the best specialist stringing equipment available to deliver precision, consistency and quality with every restring.
We’re proud to have a Babolat Racquet Station, one of only a handful in Australia and the only one in Adelaide, South Australia. We also have a Babolat Sensor Expert, the only machine of its kind in Australia, providing exceptional accuracy and consistency.
Our stores are also equipped with second-generation Dunlop stringing machines, giving our team the flexibility to professionally restring tennis, squash and badminton racquets.
Combined with over 45 years of racquet sports expertise, our specialist equipment ensures your racquet is in experienced hands.
As a general guide, we recommend restringing your tennis, squash or badminton racquet as many times per year as you play each week. So, if you play three times a week, aim to restring around three times a year.
There are other signs to look out for too. If your strings are fraying, have lost tension or your racquet simply doesn’t feel or perform the way it used to, it could be time for a restring.

The restring itself can take less than 20 minutes once your racquet is on the machine.
Turnaround time will depend on how busy we are, but we can generally have your racquet ready within 24 hours. If you need it sooner, give us a call before coming in and we’ll let you know our current turnaround time.
There’s no single tension that suits every player. The right tension depends on your racquet, string, playing style and whether you’re looking for more power, control, comfort or feel.
As a general rule, a higher tension can provide more control, while a lower tension can provide more power and a softer feel.

We stock a wide range of polyester, synthetic gut, natural gut and multifilament strings, with options for different levels of power, control, spin, comfort, feel and durability.
You don’t need to know the difference before you come in. Our team can talk you through the options and recommend a string to suit your game.
You don’t need to wait until a string breaks. Over time, strings lose tension and elasticity, which can change the way your racquet feels and performs.
